A proposal for four new houses has been submitted to West Berkshire Council.

Donfield Homes Ltd has submitted a proposal to build four new detached three-bedroom houses on the north side of Theobald Drive in Tilehurst.

The development will also include room for eight car parking spaces and 8 bicycle spaces.

The Environmental Health officer has requested a noise impact assessment as the development is located in an area with elevated noise levels owing to traffic along Oxford Road.

They also requested a construction management scheme and hours of work conditions to minimise any possible disturbance to the existing residences nearby.

They said: “No work relating to the development hereby approved, including works of demolition or preparation prior to building operations, shall take place other than between the hours of 7.30am and 6pm Monday to Friday and 8.30am to 1pm Saturdays and at no time on Sundays or bank or national holidays.”

Both schemes must be submitted to the Local Planning Authority for written approval.

The council will decide on the application by Friday, January 26.
