Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council launches £150,000 to help local businesses recruit apprentices




Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council has launched a new fund which will help small and medium sized local businesses to recruit new apprentices.

Following the launch of the new £150,000 fund, eligible businesses can apply for grants of £5,000 per apprenticeship to help with costs, such as recruitment, uniforms, job-specific equipment and travel costs, for up to three separate apprenticeships.

The funding cannot be used to cover salaries or training costs.

Webinars presented by the council to provide more information on the scheme and application process will be held on Tuesday, March 5 from 6pm and Wednesday, March 13 from 1pm.

Businesses can register for a webinar and find more information on the website at www.basingstoke.gov.uk/apprenticeship-business-fund

The fund will be open for applications until Sunday, March 31.
