Council offers free learning courses
West Berkshire courses for adult learning opportunities are part of the Government’s 'Big Society' initiative
INDIVIDUALS interested in developing adult learning opportunities can benefit from a range of free courses being offered by West Berkshire Council.
The Adult and Community Learning (ACL) team at the council is offering the courses as part of the Government's 'Big Society' initiative.
Developed in partnership with Newbury College, the Workers Education Association (WEA) and the Community Council for Berkshire (CCB) the programme provides a unique opportunity for local residents, aged over 19 years, to learn a new skill, develop an interest, widen employment opportunities, strengthen communities and develop local facilities and clubs.
Each course consists of between two and six hours tuition and can be delivered over a maximum of three weeks on weekdays, evenings and weekends in suitable local community venues.
To find out more about the range of courses, which have to be completed by July 31, go to the website, which can be accessed by clicking the link below, or call the adult and community learning team on (01635) 42400 or email aclteam@westberks.gov.uk
