Council proposes lorry ban for Mill Lane

A consultation period has started on a proposed order to ban heavy commercial vehicles from Mill Lane in Newbury
HEAVY commercial vehicles could soon be banned from using Mill Lane in Newbury.
West Berkshire Council is now entering a three-week consultation period on a proposed order to prohibit vehicles weighing over 7.5 tonnes from using the road, except for loading and unloading.
The order, which could come into force next year, is for the whole length of Mill Lane, between its junction with Kings Road and its junction with Boundary Road.
Any objections to the proposed order must be sent to the council in writing by no later than November 3.
