Council quiet over finish date for A339 roadworks

Traffic is currently running on a temporary surface along the thoroughfare at Knight’s Bridge, where a £900,000 project to strengthen the bridge was scheduled up until May 5.
The council has confirmed that work on a permanent road surface is due to start this week, but said that any early completion of the work, which has run to budget, was heavily dependent on weather conditions.
The work has reduced the A339 through Headley to a single lane, controlled by traffic lights, through which traffic flows are monitored remotely from a control room in Winchester, which adjusts the signalling of the lights accordingly.
