West Berkshire council activates Severe Weather Emergency Protocol for homeless
West Berkshire Council is actively working to minimise the impact of adverse weather conditions on rough sleepers this winter.
Anyone at risk of sleeping rough on the streets is able to access safe, warm accommodation and other support services 24/7 at West Berkshire Council's offices on Market Street, Newbury.
If you, or anyone you know is at risk of sleeping rough, please contact the council's Housing Service on 01635 519530, selecting option two for homelessness.
Council office opening times are between 8.30am to 5pm from Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4.30pm on Fridays. Anyone at risk outside of these opening hours can contact the council's Emergency Duty Team on 01344 786543.
People concerned about rough sleepers over the age of 18 can also contact Streetlink on 0300 5000914 or via their website: https://www.streetlink.org.uk, who will then find and support the individual at risk based on the location information you provide.
Please call 999 if you think the person you are concerned about is in immediate danger, requires urgent care, or is under 18.
