Council to join Earth Hour
The lights will be switched off at West Berkshire Council's offices in Newbury at 8.30pm tonight (Saturday)
WEST Berkshire Council's offices will be in illustrious company this weekend as it joins a global campaign against climate change.
The main lights in the council's Market Street offices in Newbury will be switched off for an hour from 8.30pm tonight (Saturday) as part of WWF Earth Hour 2011.
Last year, a record 128 countries took part in the campaign and many of the world's famous landmarks, including Big Ben and Number 10 Downing Street in London, The Eiffel Tower in Paris and Sydney Opera House in Australia took part.
To register to take part yourself, click on the link below and make sure your lights are off for an hour from 8.30pm.
Meanwhile, remember that the clocks go forward to British Summer Time overnight (at 1am tomorrow [Sunday]), meaning everyone will have one less hour in bed.
