Countess of Carnarvon's Donnington charity talk for children's hospice

In support of Naomi House Children’s Hospice and Jacksplace, Sutton Scotney, her talk entitled:

, described life during the First World War at Highclere Castle - the stately home of Lady Carnarvon and husband, the Earl of Carnarvon and their family and location for the filming of the award-winning ITV series, Downton Abbey.
“I am delighted to be supporting Naomi House and to share the stories from some of the remarkable characters who lived at the Real Downton Abbey,” said Lady Carnarvon.
The talk was followed by a question and answer session, before Lady Carnarvon signed copies of her book: Lady Catherine and the Real Downton Abbey, reflecting the current series, set in the 1920’s.
Organiser, Ben Bar-Lev, of Naomi House, said the evening proved a highlight in the charity’s calendar of events and continued:
“I am so pleased Lady Carnarvon was supporting us and it was a night to remember for Downton Abbey fans.”
A total £2,600 was raised for the charity - the proceeds of ticket sales, a raffle, auction and fundraising quiz game based on the series.
