Counting begins in West Berkshire’s local elections, as well as for North Hampshire wards and Thatcham and Newbury town councils.
Counting is now under way in West Berkshire’s local elections.
The district went to the polls yesterday and the count began at 9.30am today (Friday).
It is being held at Newbury Racecourse and the results are expected to begin to be announced later this afternoon.

Both the ruling Conservative party and main opposition Liberal Democrats have fielded a full list for the district council elections – contesting all 43 seats.
The Greens have 18 candidates, Labour 14 and there are two independent and one from the UK Independence Party and two from the Reform Party.
Heritage Party – Traditional Family Values has one candidate.
There were also elections for Newbury Town Council and Thatcham Town Council, as well as two parish councils – East Ilsley and Stanford Dingley.
North Hampshire also had elections for some seats in its wards.
