The Retreat at Elcot Park is hosting several Coronation events this weekend

A local country hotel and spa is hosting several events to celebrate the Coronation this weekend.

The Retreat at Elcot Park, located off the A4 between Newbury and Hungerford, will be marking the historic occasion in style.

Throughout the weekend, The Retreat will be serving from a special Coronation menu, which includes unique takes on classic dishes such as a sesame glazed lamb rump and a royal trifle.

On Friday evening in the Kings Ginger Courtyard, there will be live music accompanied by sushi sharing platters and glasses of fizz.

The music continues on Saturday, when the violin and cello duo Astri Strings will soundtrack a traditional afternoon tea from 2pm to 5pm.

The Retreat will hold a family fun day on Sunday from 12pm. There’s no need to book for this event, and it will contain bouncy castles, screen printing, juggling classes, face painting and much more.

The bank holiday will conclude with a quiz on all things British on Monday at 7pm. It will be free to enter and the winning team will receive a £100 Retreat voucher.
