Reading Magistrates' Court: arrest warrant for Newbury woman facing domestic violence charges
A COURT has issued a warrant for the immediate arrest of a Newbury woman convicted of domestic violence charges.
Emma Louise West had been due in the dock to be sentenced at Reading Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, October 26 - but she did not show up.
At a previous hearing she admitted assaulting Charlotte Nichols by beating her in Mortimer on November 18 last year.
She denied a charge of committing common assault against Ms Nichols in Mortimer on December 15 last year but this was found proved in her absence.
In addition, Ms West had denied using violence to secure entry into Charlotte Nichols' Mortimer home on November 18 last year, but this, too, was found proved in her absence.
The 31-year-old admitted stealing an Apple iPhone worth £487.92 from Ms Nichols on December 15 last year and causing £80 worth of criminal damage to a phone belonging to Thames Valley Police on November 21 last year.
The charges against Ms Nichols were committed in a domestic violence context, according to court documents.
The prosecution also laid a charge of failing to surrender to bail at Tuesday's hearing.
The court meanwhile issued a warrant for Ms West's immediate arrest.
