Craft fairs at City Arts in Newbury continue this weekend

Things were getting crafty in Newbury at the weekend.

The town’s mayor, Andy Moore, was there to open the first of two weekend craft fairs at City Arts on Saturday.

Artist Isabel Carmona, from the Hampton Road community arts venue, said: “It went very well despite the weather, we really enjoyed the mayor’s visit and that of another 350 people over the three days.”

There is a second fair this weekend, Friday to Sunday - with a complete set of new stall holders, local artists, craftspeople and traders - including jewellery, glass artwork, printmaking, textiles and loads more.

“We also have a volunteer run stall and the proceeds all go towards our charitable activities in the community,” she added.

“Plus the fabulous raffle will be drawn next weekend with prizes donated by the stallholders.”
