Firefighters called out to blazes in Pangbourne and Streatley




Firefighters have battled two blazes in West Berkshire this past week.

A fire crew from Theale and two crews from Oxfordshire responded to a blaze at a commercial premises in Streatley High Street around 12.28pm yesterday (Monday).

On arrival, they found a small flash fire involving gas in the kitchen area of the premises.

One person was placed in the care of the South Central Ambulance Service.

The crew were on scene for approximately 58 minutes, and have said they will return to the premises later to carry out a post fire safety inspection.

Crews from Caversham Road, Theale and Mortimer fire stations were also called to a fire in a field in Bere Court Road, in Pangbourne, last Wednesday (May 14).

Firefighters used hose reels to put out the fire.

They were on scene for approximately one hour and 49 minutes.
