Culture Fest set to return to Newbury
A variety of dances will be on display, ranging from Egyptian belly to Chinese lion, along with other forms of gyration including aerial hoop acrobatics and clog dancing.
There will also be a chance to sample different cultures at the many food and craft stalls, offering a taste of Jamaican, Japanese and Turkish delights, as well as taking part in hands-on-activities and massages.
Last year’s event saw over 2,000 people attend the festival and organisers are hoping to build on this success.
Organiser Waheeda Soomro said: “This event provides an accessible platform for local and Berkshire wide groups to promote their work and raise awareness for their cause; it also offers an invaluable opportunity for our partners and supporters to engage with a variety of local communities and groups”.
The event is sponsored and supported by Greenham Common Trust, Sovereign Housing, Empowering West Berkshire, West Berkshire Council and NHS Berkshire West.
The free event will be held at the Racecourse Newbury between Noon and 4pm on June 29.
