Curridge pupils celebrate Armed Forces Day
A village school dressed up for Armed Forces Day (Saturday, June 28).
Children at Curridge Primary School were recently joined by personnel from Denison Barracks to mark Armed Forces Day.
There were a range of activities for the children to take part in. The children enjoyed investigating the large army vehicle, building towers in a STEM challenge, following clues to unlock a safe, trying on kit and learning to march.
Headteacher Jackie Livermore said: “We have a close relationship with the barracks in Hermitage and appreciate their support for our families.
“Events such as Armed Forces Day are very important to us as they foster an understanding of the work that our service members and their families undertake.
“Everyone had a wonderful day learning more about the different roles in the armed forces as well as the values of service, duty and community.”
