Newbury Retail Park gates left shut this morning as traffic builds up on the A339 and Pinchington Lane

There is currently traffic chaos and empty shops as the gates at Newbury Retail Park remain shut this morning (Monday).

One reader contacted us from Costa, where she was the only customer.

She said that the gates remained locked at 9.25am and that the shops were currently quite empty and the traffic situation was “pretty bad”.

Traffic is queuing out of the retail park, back to the A339 roundabout and along Pinchington Lane.
