Cute and quirky cloth creations
A rather fun exhibition has opened at The Old Chapel Textile Centre, Greenham called Figurative Creations In Cloth. There are over 150 'creations' to appeal to all ages and both sexes, from pieces of a chess set, to steampunk and flying trapeze artists in the circus collection. Creative Cloth Doll Makers is a well-established group of experienced creative stitchers who like to make figurative creations in cloth. These are not playthings – more sculptures than dolls. The group has been in existence for more than five years, and meets on the last Saturday of every month at Farnborough Community Centre. The variety of their creations ranges from cute and quirky to serious portraiture. The exhibition is open until Saturday, June 7, from 10am to 4pm, Tuesday-Saturday Admission costs £4. There will be a member of the Creative Cloth Doll Makers at the exhibition every Saturday. The National Needlework Archive, is based at The Old Chapel, Main Street, Greenham Business Park.
