Cyclist breaks leg in Newbury town centre crash on A4 near Waitrose




A cyclist’s leg was broken in a car crash in central Newbury.

At around 12.10pm on Sunday, May 5, a blue Volkswagen Touran collided with a cyclist on the roundabout by Waitrose, at the junction of the A4, Western Avenue.

The cyclist suffered a broken leg which required hospital treatment, but have since been discharged.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.

Investigating officer PC Tom Dickinson said: “We are appealing for witnesses following this collision.

“We are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward as well as anyone who may have dash-cam footage of the incident.
