Cyclist killed in Newbury accident





Thames Valley Police have confirmed that a male cyclist in his 40s died following an accident involving a van at around 10am.
Paramedics attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hambridge Road was closed from the Boundary Road and Hambridge Lane junction to allow an accident investigation team to work at the scene.
Sgt Justin Thomas, from the Roads Policing Unit, said: “I am keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed this incident.
“Enquiries are ongoing at this time to locate the man’s next of kin."
Officers have left the scene and the road has reopened.
