Cyril the Squirrel proves game for a laugh

Following a successful series of Playdays in 2012 to celebrate the Olympic and Paralympic games, the council once again held a special Playday in the Park event at The Moors Open Space, Lower Way.
During the day, there were activities including arts and crafts, a bouncy castle and facepainting.
Berkshire Youth’s SPLAT (sport, leisure and activities) team provided a wide range of activities including cricket and hockey.
Town mayor Mike Cole and the town’s mascot, Cyril the Squirrel managed to stop by for a game.
Mr Cole said: “We’ve received some excellent feedback from parents who really appreciate having free activities for families.
“Many people have brought a picnic with them and plan to spend the day here.”
