Damaged BT cable causing Tadley phone and broadband problems
It is affecting residents as well as local businesses, with Grillz takeaway restaurant in Franklin Avenue unable to use its phones on Tuesday.
Speaking to the Newbury Weekly News today (Thursday) a regional spokesman for BT, Paul Hayward, said: "We had a damaged cable which has been affecting some services in the area.
"New cabling is now in and jointers are now in the process of connected affected lines back into service.
"We have had around 180 reported faults from people affected by this. Services will gradually return as work progresses and we are hoping that all the work will be finished to complete all repairs during the coming weekend.
"We would like to apologise for any inconvenience whilst this work is being carried out."
A spokesman for TalkTalk, Charles Whitney, said: “Some of our customers in the Tadley area may be experiencing disruption because of damage to a cable at the local exchange.
"BT Openreach, which carries out repairs, is working to fix the fault. We are sorry for any inconvenience this is causing our customers.”
