Date for Newbury's Bayer 10k run announced
THIS year’s Bayer 10k race in Newbury has been brought forward a couple of weeks due to the Queen’s diamond jubilee celebrations, and will this year take place on Sunday, May 13.
Last year’s event saw more than 850 runners register, raising more than £10,000 for the Newbury and District MS Society and Newbury Athletic Club.
This year, one thousand places have been allocated for runners of all ages and experience and West berkshire children's charity Swings & Smiles has been selected as the chosen charity.
Bayer spokeswoman, Andrea Postles, said: "It’s that time of year again to start thinking about dusting off your running shoes and throwing off the winter blues.
"We’re very excited to be working with Newbury Athletic Club on the Bayer Newbury 10k once again and expect to fill the 1,000 places in record time.
"We are also very proud to be supporting Swings & Smiles, a local charity for families who have children with special needs.”
