Date set for Tadley Treacle Fair

The popular event will this year take place on Sunday, June 5

TADLEY Treacle Fair is set to return to the town this year in early June.

Organised by the Loddon Valley Lions, with a noon opening by the mayor, this year's fair promises exciting arena displays, a large craft marquee, plus trade and charity stands.

Also on offer will be a car boot sale, fairground rides and children's entertainers, display of vintage vehicles, steam and stationary engines, fire engines, tractors, cars and motorcycles - with prizes in each class.

Refreshments will be available in the Lions' tea tent, a bar tent courtesy of the Pelican Inn, Pamber Heath and hog roast.

A huge charity fundraiser, last year's fair raised £12,000, resulting in two donations, each of £5,000, to St Michael's Hospice, Basingstoke and Naomi House Children's Hospice, Sutton Scotney.

The treacle fair will be from 11am to 5pm, on Sunday June 5, in Saunders Field.

Entry will be £5 for adults and £4 for seniors, with £1 entry for accompanied children.
