Reading Magistrates' Court: Newbury man's threatening behaviour costs him
A NEWBURY man has been made to pay compensation after being convicted of threatening behaviour
In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Thursday, April 1, was Jordan Prout, who also uses the surname Bradley.
The 21-year-old, of St Donat's Place, off Catherine Road in Newbury, had denied using, towards Jack Werrell, threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause him to believe that immediate, unlawful violence would be used against him, in Newbury on November 18, 2019.
However, magistrates did not believe his account and he was convicted of the single offence following a trial.
Mr Prout was made subject to an 18 month community order and required to complete 50 hours unpaid community work.
In addition, he was ordered to pay £500 costs plus compensation of £75 to Mr Werrell, in lieu of an otherwise statutory victim services surcharge.
