Defibrillator installed at Mettal HQ in Thatcham

A defibrillator has been installed at a Thatcham-based business.

The life-saving device is now outside Mettal HQ on Pipers Lane.

It sits near the train station in support of staff at local businesses and people in the surrounding area.

Mettal UK, which was founded in 2018, also supports other communtiy projects in the area and sponsors Thatcham Town FC, Tadley RFC and Thatcham 10k.

Managing director George Darling said the importance of having defibrillators accessible is immesurable.

He said: “It’s our responsibility as a local employer within the community to provide potentially life-saving equipment that can be accessed day and night should it be needed.

“The sooner that somebody who is having a heart attack can be treated, the greater the chance of their survival.

“The importance of these machines being accessible to the public is immeasurable.”
