Delays expected as transformers are moved tomorrow (Saturday)

As part of the decommissioning of Didcot power station, three large transformers will be moved to Avonmouth docks.
The 640 tonne transformers will be moved over three separate weekends in November - starting tomorrow - along the A4130 to Milton Interchange, the A34 southbound to junction 13 of the M4 and then travel to Membury services.
The first transporter will set off from the power station at 9am tomorrow (Saturday).
Police estimate that it will take around four hours to travel from Didcot to the M4, which they say will cause disruption.
However, as the A34 southbound from Milton to Chieveley is planned to close on November 16 and 17, the transformers will move from the power station at around 6pm on November 15 and travel the A4130 to Milton Interchange, then the A34 southbound and park overnight on the closed carriageway of the A34 just before the M4 junction at Chieveley.
The load will then move off again the following morning.
If the planned road closure does not occur then the move will still take place, however the load will travel direct to Membury services to park overnight before continuing its journey on Saturday.
The third move will set off from Didcot power station at 9am on November 23.
