Delays on A34 north of Newbury due to a vehicle that has left the carriageway

Update: This has now cleared.

One lane is closed on the A34 northbound due to an accident involving a vehicle that has left the carriageway.

The accident occurred between the junctions with the M4 and the A4185.

National Highways said the collision involved "a lorry which has to rest down an embankment.

"There are currently 2.5 miles of congestion on approach so please allow extra journey time if in the area."

Normal traffic conditions are expected around 8pm.
