Delicious donations made Easter that bit more special for children at Swings & Smiles
Children at a special needs charity were over the moon with delicious donations at Easter.
Organisations in the district donated Easter eggs to Swings & Smiles in Thatcham.
Among them was Newbury Better Health & Fitness which held an Easter egg collection.
Staff and members of centre donated more than 60 Easter eggs to the children.
Better Health general manager Lewis Freeman said: “It was fantastic to deliver so many Easter eggs donated by our members to Richard and Ben at Swings & Smiles to pass to the children for their Easter treat.”
He said choosing Swings & Smiles as the donation recipient “just made sense” for the social enterprise.
And some members have personal connections with the cause.
“It just fitted in with us and it made sense,” he said.
Also donating were recruitment agency Adecco who also asked clients if they wanted to donate eggs as well as making donations themselves.
Other companies who donated were 1st Class Logistics, Thermatek and Abley Letchford.
Corporate fundraising lead Richard Falkus-Holder said: “The look on the children's faces when they arrived to see they had received an Easter egg each was a sight to behold.
“This is a gift that made their Easter that little bit more special.
“All of us including the staff and volunteers, as well as the parents and carers of the children are so appreciative for this act of kindness.”
