Demolition works start at vacant Pirbright Institute
Notices have been distributed to properties bordering the former Pirbright Institute in Compton regarding demolitions work.
West Berkshire Council previously granted outline planning permission for a major redevelopment at the empty site.
Some initial work will start in April, with the main demolition work expected to start in May, lasting approximately 72 weeks.
Homes England applied for permission to demolish existing buildings and build 160 residential units and other associated infrastructure on the site.
It has appointed Cognition Land and Water to oversee the demolition works and removal of hazards.
Its hours of work are between 8am and 6pm from Monday to Friday, and will be using the main entrance off the High Street to access the site.
