Imogen Dental’s mascot Canine Croc abseils down Portsmouth’s Spinnaker Tower and raises £2,432 for The Rainbow Trust Children's Charity

A Kingsclere dentist’s reptilian mascot took the plunge and abseiled 300ft down Portsmouth’s Spinnaker Tower to raise money for a children’s terminal illness charity.

Imogen Dental, based in Kingsclere and Benson in Oxfordshire, has taken on challenges and fundraised for various charities since launching a charity initiative in 2016.

This year, in celebration of the launch of Imogen Dental’s children’s mascot ‘Canine Croc’, the chosen charity for this 300ft abseil down the iconic tower on Saturday, April 20, was The Rainbow Trust Children's Charity.

Imogen Dental’s Dr Neel Tank said: “Unfortunately, when a child is seriously ill, family life is turned upside down and time becomes more precious than ever.

“The Rainbow Trust pairs each family with an expert family support worker who enables them to make the most of time together, giving them practical and emotional support, whenever they need it, for as long as is needed.

“We chose this charity in particular, as we all have families of their own, and know how important and special children are.

“Charity incentives, fundraising and helping the community is something very close to the team's heart at Imogen Dental.”

An initial target of £500 was set, but the abseil managed to raise £2,432, a number The Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity was “delighted” with.

Dr Tank added: “The team at Imogen Dental would like to whole heartedly thank all of our friends, family, and patients who supported, came to watch, and help raise so much for this excellent charity.

“It would not have been possible without you.”
