TA Fisher reassure Brimpton residents ahead of new four-home development

Brimpton residents have been reassured by property developers that a new four-home project will have its impact on the village minimised during construction.

Two representatives of TA Fisher were present at a meeting of Brimpton Parish Council on Tuesday, August 2, to answer concerns raised before work begins on the Washoe Lodge site.

The plans for the four-home development were approved in August 2020, with demolition of the existing buildings and construction of the new ones set to begin in the autumn and last for around 10 months.

Enborne Way residents were worried that construction workers would use the residential cul-de-sac to turn or park, but TA Fisher has asked its suppliers to refrain from using it and sufficient parking space will be provided for the workers on the site, located just off Brimpton Lane.

Headteacher of Brimpton Primary School Heidi Davies raised a number of issues regarding the safety of children during the construction phase, due to the site’s proximity to the school.

Her main period of concern was at the start and end of the school day when children are being delivered or collected by their parents.

TA Fisher agreed that once a site manager had been appointed, they would work with school to ensure the safety of parents and children at these times.

Representatives of the Theale-based property developer also stated they will work with the school to agree on the best time to carry out demolition on the site so as to minimise the impact on the children.

They are also proposing to change the external design of the four properties to make them more aesthetically pleasing.

The revised designs will be submitted to West Berkshire Council in the near future.
