Diamond wedding celebrated by Donnington couple

Peter and Diane Bosley, aged 81 and 80, met when Mr Bosley asked a colleague at his workplace, Edwards and Goddings, to pass a letter onto Mrs Bosley, then Miss Cooper who worked in neighbouring Daniel’s department store.
Mr Bosley said: “I was too excited and bashful to give it to her myself... I thought that’s [the girl] for me.”
Five years later, they wed in Burghclere, where Mrs Bosley was born, and now live together in the family home they built from scratch in Castle Lane, Donnington, in 1967.
Both agreed that the time had flown by, adding that they had shared many happy memories, the fondest being the birth of their two daughters and the building of their home.
“It has gone far too quickly,” said Mrs Bosley.
Mr Bosley added: “We have never had an argument.
“We have had discussions, difference of opinion, never an argument.”
The pair will celebrate with a party at the Acland Memorial Hall in Cold Ash later this month.
Among those attending will be their two daughters, Susan Burge and Janet Edwards, and three grandchildren Tim Burge and Harry and George Edwards.
