Discounted tickets on sale for annual Burghfest event taking place later this month
Tickets have gone on sale for the annual Burghfest celebration.
Over two days, the Recreation Ground in the village will become the venue for a mixture of live music and locally produced beers and ciders.
The annual event raises funds for Thames Valley Air Ambulance, and takes place on Friday, September 27, and Saturday, September 28.
Music on the opening night starts with a performance from newcomers Squint, just after 6.30pm.
Meat Sweats, dubbed Theale’s hungriest band, will make their Burghfest debut at 7.45pm.
Headliners will be festival favourites Murdoch’s Crazy Eye, who take to the stage between 9pm and 11pm.
On Saturday, there will be two stages, with the Bar Stage dedicated to acoustic music.
It opens at 1pm with a performance of nostalgic tunes courtesy of Chris and Dean, aka Burghfield Uncommon.
Wherewithal, an alt-pop group, perform from 2.30pm, with Damien A Passmore’s tongue-in-cheek country rock coming at 3.40pm.
Abi Powell will perform a blend of songs including hits by Amy Winehouse and The Beatles from 4.50pm, before welcoming ukuele group The Small Strings at 6pm, and again at 7.15pm.
Bringing the day to a close will be The Eric Tildiss Function Band, from 8.40pm. They will perform a mixture of singalong anthems.
On the main stage, the music starts at 1.45pm with sextet funkers Morning After.
Polky rockers Savour The Flavour follow at 2.55pm, and then Flemish Bond will bring rock, punk, metal and indie to the stage just after 4pm.
Congakeyz will perform classic hits from 5.15pm, giving way to the Vampire Strikers – a rock band from a parallel universe – at 6.25pm.
The Myld Stallyns perform a mixture of indie and rock covers from 7.40pm, while Majestix will bring the event to a close with a mixture of high-energy covers and rock and pop from 9.05pm.
The beer menu will include a special bitter, Santa’s Best, crafted by Elusive Brewing in Finchampstead.
Other local breweries represented include Wokingham’s Bond’s Brews, Tilehurst’s Double Barrelled Brewery and Loddon Brewery.
Tutts Clump leads the way on the cider menu, while there will be a full range of wine and gins to choose from.
A range of alcohol free and low-alcohol beer is also on offer.
The event runs from 3pm to 11pm on the Friday, and noon to 11pm on the Saturday.
Tickets cost £20 for the weekend, or £15 per day, while under 18s get in free.

Glasses can be rented for £2.50, and beer is sold in tokens with half-pints costing one token, a glass of wine two tokens.
Car parking is available at The Willink School, and Reading Buses Lime Green 2a route runs hourly services to and from Reading.
