Discussion over Cold Ash water pipeline tonight (Thursday)

The pipe will carry water from Reading to be stored in Cold Ash meaning customers will benefit from a more secure supply of water.
The pipeline will also reduce the amount of water that gets abstracted at Speen, helping to maintain water levels in the River Kennet. This will help to protect rare and treasured animals including water voles.
An overview as to why the pipeline was needed, along with its impact on properties and roads, will be discussed by members from Optimise, a consortium of contractors to Thames Water.
The work of Water Aid will also be discussed at the free event in the Fisher Room, St Mark’s Church, Cold Ash at 7.30pm today (Thursday).
