Trains remain disrupted between Reading and Newbury after broken down freight train

There continues to be disruption to train services this morning (Tuesday) after an earlier broken down freight train.

The train blocked the line between Newbury and Reading earlier today, although has now been cleared.

The line – which was closed for a while – has now reopened and trains are beginning to return to normal.

GWR has said that it expects the disruption to last until around 7.30am.

It added: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused to your journey with us today."
