Dog of the Week: The latest dogs looking for their forever homes from Newbury Dogs Trust
Welcome to this week’s Dog of the Week, writes Bethany Sirianni.
Dogs Trust Newbury still has a number of dogs at its Hamstead Marshall base who need a new home.
And so, every week we will continue to shine a spotlight on one of them to try to help spread the word.
Nationwide, the charity currently has 725 dogs that are looking for a family to join.
You can find out more about adopting a dog by visiting the charity’s website.
This week we’re bringing you distinguished gentleman Grandpa Ben, an eight-year-old greyhound.
He needs a relaxed and loving home where life moves at a slower pace.
He’s happiest when he’s snoozing, sunbathing in the sun or simply relaxing the day away.
He may need a little more support at first to settle in and shouldn’t be left for long periods of time especially at the start.
He has some age-related arthritis and is therefore on medication but he’s doing well with it; don’t hesitate to ask the trust if you need some support with this.
He loves his treats and despite his age enjoys some fun interactive training to keep his brain active, he is actually very good at it!
If you think you could be the perfect fit for this charming boy, you can find out more on the Dogs Trust website.
