Met Office issues another yellow weather warning for thunderstorms across West Berkshire and North Hampshire
The Met Office has issued a yellow thunderstorm warning for the second day in a row, writes Summer Hyde.
West Berkshire and North Hampshire, along with London and other parts of the South East, are being warned of the potential for storms between 1pm – 8pm today (Wednesday).
The Met Office warns of heavy showers and thunderstorms that could cause some disruption to travel. Driving conditions may be affected by spray, standing water, lighting strikes and hail, it added, leading to potently longer car and bus journeys. Delays on train service can also be expected.
According to the Met Office, this will be because of heavy showers developing and “15mm of rain could fall within an hour and possibly 25-30 mm in 2-3 hours”.
This afternoon may see “scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms” develop across parts of eastern and south-eastern England – including Berkshire. Where rain showers could become slow moving, along with lighting and hail.
