District residents urged to join 'online time capsule'

West Berkshire residents are invited to upload a photo of themselves to the Faces of Britain website

WEST Berkshire residents are being invited to take part in an ‘online time capsule' to mark the events of 2012.

The Faces of Britain website is inviting residents to upload a photo of themselves free-of-charge onto a grid that contains space for 1,000 members of the local community in each of 433 local authority areas in Great Britain.

The website will then permanently display the photos as a lasting reminder for those who will experience such events as the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the Olympic and Paralympic Games in London and the London mayoral elections.

On completion, the grid will be available to purchase as a commemorative poster or large-scale print, although it will be on offer for free to charities, community centres and libraries.

Local sponsors are also being sought for the website and posters and anyone interested in finding out more information should click on the link below.
