District's longest-serving primary school head retires
Keith Watts (pictured right) has been at the helm at Shaw-cum-Donnington Primary School in Love Lane for the past 24 years.
He leaves at the end of this academic year and will continue to work for the National Union of Teachers, and for his wife Lesley’s teacher recruitment business.
Mr Watts, who lives in Pewsey, said: “My happiest memories are probably of those children who perhaps didn’t have the greatest opportunities in life and for whom we were able to make a difference.
“The school has been such a big part of my life and I shall miss it a great deal. It’s going to be hard letting go.”
Meanwhile, if you are a former staff member, parent, pupil or governor and would like further information regarding Mr Watts’s retirement, email school manager Delia Jones at office.shaw@westberks.org or telephone (01635) 40971.
