District's past opens up today (Sunday)

A series of events are being held across the district as part of English Heritage's National Heritage Open Days where historic and eco-buildings are opened up to members of the public.
Available for viewing today is the Bunker Farm eco house in Newbury between 10am and 4pm.
People will be able to tour the bell tower of St Nicolas church in Newbury - not normally open to the public - between 2pm and 4.30pm, with the church open for viewing between 1pm and 4.30pm.
St George's church in Newbury, which is working on becoming carbon neutral, will be opening it's doors between 8am and 5pm.
You can even take a peak at the biomass boiler at Curridge Primary School.
A host of buildings in Cold Ash will be open to guests, with the Cold Ash Centre, St Finian's Catholic primary school, St Gabriel's Chapel and convent garden and St Mark's church all open throughout the day.
The teaching room at the Nature Discovery Centre in Thatcham will also be open for a self-guided tour.
But if exploring the past does not appeal to you, the centre also has a chance to turn the old into something new.
Children can make a hedgehog picture using scraps of fabric from 11am to 4pm.
Those enjoying a stroll in Newbury's Victoria Park can also take in the sounds of the Tadley concert band between 3pm and 5pm.
