Dive into Northcroft lido next month

The historic pool dates back to 1870 and is the largest outdoor swimming pool in the county.
With the outdoor changing rooms ready for the summer season, visitors are being encouraged to take the plunge and enjoy a fun summer in the 75m outdoor pool, as well the popular ice cream kiosk.
West Berkshire’s Executive member for Leisure, Hilary Cole (Con, Chieveley), said: “The popularity of the outdoor pool never wanes.
"Last year it attracted more than ten thousand visitors. "Leisure Centres are important community facilities and we are very lucky to have this lovely lido here in Newbury."
The centre is currently undergoing renovation works with a new ‘changing village’ offering customers a new entrance to the pool, new changing cubicles and lockers and improvements to the existing assisted disabled changing room to provide all changing facilities in one unit.
Centre Manager at Northcroft, Rose Metalli, said: “During this exciting period of refurbishment, we are working hard to ensure that there is minimum disruption to our customers.
As part of this commitment, opening times have been reviewed to better accommodate our regular swimmers, school hire and children’s swimming lessons. Two new timetables are now available, one for term time and one for the summer holidays."
