Do you love your local zoo?

A campaign has been launched as part of Love Your Zoo week to encourage people to visit their local zoos and aquariums

ANIMAL lovers will be asked to compare the meerkats and other animals at Beale Park as part of Love Your Zoo week.

The campaign, running from from today (Monday) to Sunday, June 5, is being launched by the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA), and aims to encourage people to visit their local BIAZA zoos and aquariums to learn how much they do for conservation, education and research.

At Beale Park, in Lower Basildon, lemurs will be showing off their babies and peacocks will be fanning their feathers to entice in the crowds throughout the week alongside fun and games for families.

For a 50p donation, visitors of all ages will be able to enter a zoo trail and prize draw to win an animal keeper session and a family ticket.
