Dog of the week

Newburytoday.co.uk hopes to help Dogs Trust Newbury to try to find a home for Kernel

THIS week Dogs Trust Newbury is appealing for a home for two-year-old Collie cross, Kernel.

Kernel is on the look out for a happy new home. He was brought to the centre as a stray after he was found wandering the streets.

Dogs Trust Newbury centre Assistant Manager Jenny Hopkins said: "Kernel is such a friendly, happy chap despite his ordeal and we are desperate to find him the loving owner he deserves. Not just a pretty face, this cunning canine is very quick to learn and loves showing off new tricks to his human friends at the centre. He would benefit from training classes where he could show what a clever collie he is."

She added: "Kernel can be shy when he first meets people but he is easily won over with a game of fetch and will make a wonderful pet for someone willing to take the time to get to know hm. He is a bouncy, young lad looking for a quiet, active, adult home with no other pets so he can enjoy all the attention."

If you are nutty about Kernel and can offer him the home he so deserves please contact Dogs Trust Newbury on 01488 658391 or visit them at: Plumbs Farm, Hamstead Marshall, Newbury, Berks, RG20 0HR.

Dogs Trust is the UK's largest dog welfare charity and cares for over 16,000 stray and abandoned dogs each year through its network of 17 Rehoming Centres nationwide.
