Dog of the week

Newburytoday hopes to help Dogs Trust Newbury to try to find a home for Meeka

This week, Dogs Trust is appealing for Meeka, a three-year-old Saluki cross-female.

Meeka is the latest canine to reside at the Dogs Trust Newbury centre and is looking for a loving new home.

This lovely lady came into Dogs Trust through no fault of her own after her owners suffered a change in circumstances and could no longer care for her.

Dogs Trust Newbury centre manager Maureen Iggleden said: "Meeka is an elegant young lady who loves her walks and playing outside with similar, placid dogs.

"She likes to laze out on the lawn in the sunshine or cuddle up with you on the sofa and truly would make a doting contribution to the family.

"I would love to see Meeka go to a new home. Ideally, she would best suit an active teenage family with no small furry pets."

If you think you could offer Meeka a home please contact Dogs Trust Newbury on (01488) 658391 or visit them at: Plumbs Farm, Hamstead Marshall, Newbury, Berks, RG20 0HR.

Dogs Trust is the UK's largest dog welfare charity and cares for over 16,000 stray and abandoned dogs each year through its network of 17 Rehoming Centres nationwide.
