Dog of the week

Newburytoday hopes to help Dogs Trust Newbury to try to find a home for Willow.

This week Dogs Trust Newbury is appealing for a home for Willow, a two-year-old Beardie cross.

Maureen Iggleden, Manager of Dogs Trust Newbury, said: "Willow is a beautiful dog with lots of love to give; she can be shy when she first meets people and has found herself overlooked in kennels. However in time you'll realise that she is a real character who loves cuddles and affection.

"Willow can be a little wary of strangers, so she is looking for an owner who is willing to give plenty of time and energy to help gain her trust; this will help her to blossom into the loveable girl we all know so well."

She added: "Willow would suit a quiet, adult only home with a calm and confident older dog who can help her settle and show her the doggy ropes! Her owners will need to spend time getting to know her at the centre. She has a playful nature and will make a super companion given half the chance."

If you think that Willow could be the dog for you or you are interested in any of the other canine residents of Dogs Trust Newbury then please contact the Rehoming Centre on 01488 658391 or visit www.dogstrust.org.uk/rehoming.

Dogs Trust is the UK's largest dog welfare charity, and cared for 16,000 dogs last year through a network of 17 Rehoming Centres.
