Dog of the week

Newburytoday hopes to help Dogs Trust Newbury to try to find a home for Jasper

This week Dogs Trust Newbury is appealing for a loving new home for two-year-old cross breed Jasper, who is looking to cut a splash in a happy home.

Dogs Trust Newbury centre assistant manager Jenny Hopkins said: "Jasper is a fun-loving bouncy little scamp who loves splashing around in his paddling pool but dreams of a trip to a larger pond. This energetic lad would be best suited to owners who enjoy long rambles in the countryside, and he'd love a garden with a paddling pool to jump around in.

"Jasper would benefit from basic obedience training with lots of treats and cuddles and a set routine to help him settle in."

She added: "Jasper is an affectionate, happy chap who loves meeting new people and dogs so could go to a home with an existing dog. This precious pooch would make a wonderful addition to a lucky family."

If you think Jasper is the dog for you please contact Dogs Trust Newbury on (01488) 658391 or visit them at: Plumbs Farm, Hamstead Marshall, Newbury, Berks, RG20 0HR.

Dogs Trust is the UK's largest dog welfare charity and cares for over 16,000 stray and abandoned dogs each year through its network of 17 Rehoming Centres nationwide.
