Dog of the week

Newburytoday hopes to help Dogs Trust Newbury to try to find a home for Will

IT'S A New Year and hopefully a new start for five-month-old terrier Will, who was discovered running in fields just before Christmas until Dogs Trust Newbury Assistant Manager Jenny Hopkins tempted him with cocktail sausages and is now trying to find him a home.

Ms Hopkins said: “Will is a timid little fella and is enjoying lots of cuddles from the team whilst he gets back to full strength. It's not known how or why he ended up running in the fields or for how long, but hopefully he will be able to find a new place to call home with a new loving family.

“He gets on well with other dogs when out on walks and is fully housetrained. He would prefer to be the only pet in the house so he doesn't have to share the attention and can ensure a constant stream of cuddles.

“A real lap dog he is at his most content when he is curled up on your lap and will happily fall asleep and while away an afternoon. Due to his age it would be preferable for Will's new family to have experience of the terrier breed and ideally be a child free zone, at least while he settles in. Within no time this loveable little chap will settle in and become a great addition to any lucky family.”

If you think you can offer Will a new place to call home, please visit Dogs Trust Newbury at Plumbs Farm, Hamstead Marshall, Newbury, Berks, RG20 0HR or call them on (01488) 658391 to arrange to meet him.

Dogs Trust is the UK's largest dog welfare charity and cares for over 16,000 stray and abandoned dogs each year through its network of 17 Rehoming Centres nationwide.
