Dog of the week

Dogs Trust Newbury rehoming assistant manager, Jenny Hopkins, said: “Lovely Woody is a friendly boy who gets on well with people and dogs alike and likes to lean his long body against you, and may even take to sliding down your legs till he comes to rest on the floor.
“He’s a quiet and placid boy who is not only graceful but incredibly gentle too. He would suit a quiet home with a large secure garden in which he can catch the sun when it makes its fleeting appearances.
“When inside he likes to curl up on a spare duvet or sofa and will be content watching the world go by.”
She added that contrary to what many people think, Greyhounds do not need lots of exercise but instead are content with one or two walks a day and will then spend the rest of the day snoozing.
“Woody is good with children over ten years of age and would prefer a home free from small furry animals as he hasn’t quite lost his chase instinct. As such a loveable hound we’re hoping he will find his pawfect home very soon,” added Mrs Hopkins.
If you think you can offer Woody a new place to stretch his legs then visit Dogs Trust Newbury, Plumb’s Farm, Hamstead Marshall, Newbury, Berks, RG20 0HR or call (01488) 658391.
Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity and cares for over 16,000 stray and abandoned dogs each year through its network of 17 Rehoming Centres nationwide.
