Dog of the week

Jenny Hopkins, Dogs Trust Newbury rehoming centre assistant manager, said: “Lewie is an absolutely delightful dog. He can be a bit timid at first, but all it takes is a bit of time and once he gets to know you he is very loving and loyal.
"He likes other small dogs and would suit a quiet adult home. He is housetrained, loves his walks but is also equally happy in his own company, playing with his soft toys.
"Lewie previously belonged to an elderly owner who went into a nursing home, and would make a lovely, gentle companion for someone who in turn could offer him a happy home.”
If you think you can offer little Lewie a palace to place his paws then visit Dogs Trust Newbury, Plumb’s Farm, Hamstead Marshall, Newbury, Berks, RG20 0HR or call (01488) 658 391.
Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity and cares for over 16,000 stray and abandoned dogs each year through its network of 17 Rehoming Centres nationwide.
