Public Protection Partnership highlights prolific dog poo area in Newbury

The Public Protection Partnership (PPP) is taking action to shame dog owners into clearing up their pets' mess in Newbury.

The PPP has shared some pictures of an area in the centre of Newbury where their animal wardens have sprayed pink paint over the many piles of dog poo, which their owners have not bothered to pick up.

"They were shocked at the volume of dog mess in a relatively small area. They will be along on a regular basis to monitor and patrol the area."

The offending area is on a path that joins Mill Lane, Windsor Court and Carpenters Close in Newbury.

The PPP has posted the pictures on social media and asked: "Do you have any information which could help us identify the culprit(s) who are repeatedly letting their dog foul this area and not pick up?

"Leaving dog mess is unacceptable, unpleasant and is dangerous.

They go on to state that while most dog owners are responsible, there are still some people who don't bother to clean up after their dog 'and they have no consideration for their neighbours and neighbourhood'.

The Public Protection Partnership (PPP) is a shared service delivering Environmental Health, Licensing and Trading Standards to more than 450,000 people and 10,000 businesses on behalf of three authorities, Bracknell Forest, West Berkshire & Wokingham councils

They have asked that if you have any information which could help them identify the individual(s) responsible for not cleaning up their dog's mess then please contact them on (01635) 519171 or email ehadvice@westberks.gov.uk
